Windows에서 파일 작업을 하다가 이를 지우거나 옮길 때 시스템 자체에서 잠겨 있어서 처리할 수 없는 경우가 있다. 이렇게 잠겨있는 파일을 바로 풀어주는 용도로 사용하는 프로그램 중 가장 괜찮은 것으로 Unlocker가 있다. 2010년 3월 8일자로 새 버전이 나왔다. 프리웨어이다.

이번에 개선된 점은 아래와 같다.

Unlocker
- Fixed bug: Handles should not be missing anymore on Windows7.
- Fixed bug: Potential conflict with regular explorer use when opening multiple files or other shell extensions such as 7-zip.
- Fixed bug: UI should now appear properly when done from clean install.
- Fixed bug: No hangs due to looping junctions should happen anymore.
- Fixed bug: Deleting junctions will not erase original files anymore.
- Fixed bug: Managing your computer on Windows 7 will not crash anymore.
- Fixed bug: Bitmap handles should not leak anymore from the shell extension.
- Fixed bug: Many other potential sources of bugs and crashes.
- Improved behavior: When deleting files they will be sent first to the recycle bin if possible, only if not possible more abrasive deletion will be used.
- Improved behavior: Unlocker can be started directly from the start menu to browse to the desired file or folder.

참고로 프로그램을 설치할 때 광고용으로 eBay 바로 가기를 설치할 수 있는데 필요 없다면 빼는 것도 좋다.

무료 프로그램으로 꾸준히 개발되고 있는 좋은 프로그램이다. 2010년 2월 16일에 3.5.4 베타 버전이 나왔고, 2월 25일자로 최종 버전이 공개되었다.

무료 프로그램으로 꾸준히 개발되고 있는 좋은 프로그램이다. 2010년 1월 4일자로 3.5.2 버전이 나온 후, 2월 6일자로 3.5.3 베타 1 버전 이 나왔다.

이번에 바뀐 점은 아래와 같다.

* Fixed a mismatched file name issue with the File->Save dialog in Win7/Vista. This issue is still present on XP but cannot be fixed.
* Fixed DirectDraw Surface (.DDS) file format support for CPUs which do not have SSE2 (Pentium III, Athlon XP).
* Fixed some crashes which were actually supposed to be "out of memory" error dialogs (without a crash!).
* Fixed a race condition with the New Image, Resize, and Canvas Size dialogs. If you typed very very fast you could get it to crash by typing a negative value and immediately pressing OK or Enter.
* Removed splash screen.

SFTP나 FTP 클라이언트로 유명한 오픈 소스 무료 프로그램인 WinSCP 4.2.5 버전이 12월 22일자로 출시되었다.

이번 버전에서 바뀐 점은 아래와 같다.

* Environment variable (환경 변수) WINSCP_PATH pointing to path, where WinSCP executable file is located, is set on startup, so it can be used to configure portable paths relative to the WinSCP executable file.
* It is not possible to cancel master password prompt anymore, when saving session with passwords.
* Slash added to names of directories in search results to distinguish them from files.
* Keyboard shortcut for finding files changed to [F3] in Explorer interface.
* Path is recorded in history after changing directory in console window.
* Replacing characters not allowed in local file names is taken into account with synchronized browsing.
* Merged error message and directory creation confirmation box into one, when synchronized browsing cannot find corresponding opposite directory.
* Synchronized browsing can handle change to different directory branch.
* Placed Use same options next time on synchronization dialog above transfer settings box to make it clear that transfer settings are not saved.
* SSH core upgraded to the latest development snapshot of PuTTY (2008-11-22, revision 8755). It does not bring any notable change.
* Bug fix: When master password changing was canceled, message informing about successful change appeared anyway.
* Bug fix: No help was associated with Security tab of Preferences dialog.
* Bug fix: Passwords in default session settings were not re-encrypted when master password was changed.
* Bug fix: Empty session password were in rare situation encrypted using master password, what caused seemingly useless prompts for master passwords.
* Bug fix: WinSCP did not offer to unset read-only flag when overwriting local files anymore.
* Bug fix: Error when downloading remote files from root directory into temporary local directory.
* Bug fix: Failure when retrying connect attempt after host is not resolved.
* Bug fix: Incorrect calculation of DST start/end date.
* Bug fix: Session data on Login dialog were overwritten when locale is changed.
* Bug fix: Error when moving local directory to remote side.
* Bug fix: Help for put scripting command incorrectly claimed that -append switch is valid for FTP protocol only.
* Bug fix: Ampersands (&) in names of transfer settings presets and custom commands were handled inconsistently.
* Bug fix: Excluding file from transfer did not prevent access to the file.
* Bug fix: Error when daylight saving is not properly configured in Windows.
* Bug fix: Shell icon for stored session in folder could not be created.

포스트잇(Post-it note)1과 같은 스타일로 컴퓨터의 바탕 화면에서 사용할 수 있는 프로그램들은 상당히 많다. 비슷비슷하면서도 안정성이나 편의성, 모양 등에서 차이가 있는데, 간단한 것 같은데도 마음에 드는 프로그램을 만나기가 쉽지가 않은 것 중 하나이다.

그래도 비교적 업데이트도 꾸준히 이루어지면서 유용하게 쓸만한 프로그램은 "PNotes"가 있다. "Pinned Notes"나 "Portable Notes"를 줄여서 쓴 것이기는 한데 원래 제작자도 딱히 이거다라고 정해놓고 사용하고 있지는 않은 것 같다.

무료로 사용할 수 있으며, 설치하는 것이 아니라 적당한 폴더에 저장한 후 바로 실행해 사용하는 무설치 프로그램이다. 단일 파일은 아니지만, 무척 편리하다. 대충 아래와 같은 기능이 있다.

  • PNotes
    스킨: 위 그램에 있는 것처럼 메모지 모양을 다양하게 바꿀 수 있다. 스킨은 프로그램 홈페이지에서 내려받을 수 있다.
  • 투명 설정: 메모지의 투명도를 조정할 수 있다.
  • 일정 관리 및 알람 기능: 시간을 맞추어 놓고 알려주는 기능이 있다.
  • 서식: 글꼴의 종류, 크기, 모양 등을 다양하게 변경할 수 있다. 한글도 잘 지원한다.
  • 분류: 메모들을 원하는 수준으로 묶고 분류하여 관리할 수 있다.
  • 메모 정렬: 바탕 화면에 흩어져 있는 메모들을 화면의 가장자리로 한 번에 정렬할 수 있다.
  • 검색: 원하는 단어를 찾고 바꿀 수 있다.
  • 즐겨찾기: 자주 사용하는 메모에 쉽게 접근할 수 있다.
  • 메모를 이메일에 첨부하기.
  • 휴지통: 메모를 바로 지우지 않고 휴지통으로 보낼 수 있어, 필요하면 나중에 복원할 수 있다.
  • 유니코드(Unicode) 지원: 유니코드를 지원하며, 언어 팩을 내려받아 메뉴를 한글로 바꿀 수도 있다.
  • 무설치: 설치하는 것이 아니라 바로 실행해 사용할 수 있기 때문에, USB 등 이동식 디스크에 넣고 다닐 수도 있다.

    2009년 12월 19일자로 이 프로그램 5.5 버전이 출시되었다. 이번에 바뀐 내용은 아래와 같다.
